In the year 2000 Vivekananda Nethralaya started functioning at Kolkata. The Trust opened its door in 2007 at Bolpur near Santiniketan in Birbhum district , a very small town in the state of West Bengal in India, in the style as “VIVEKANANDA NETHRALAYA’ and ever since nurtured a goal which read as Our mission “Let there be light’ in every single eye; wash away the darkness and bring them to the world of light. And today we are successful to put smile into thousands of those wrinkled faces. In 2008 VIVEKANANDA NETHRALAYA extended its wings at Durgapur in Burdwan district of West Bengal also. It also supports our staff to improve, extend and innovate their work with the latest technology and training, enabling them to provide patients with the very best and most up-to-date treatments and surgical procedures available.
After successful mission in providing Eye treatment facilities to these poor people The Trust has taken further endeavour in establishing General Hospital for rural health development in the style as “AROGYO MULTISPECIALITY HOSPITAL” on 15% August 2014 at Raipur in Birbhum district itself – A rural hospital with a corporate facilities. The hospital aims to provide all modern quality treatment facilities at the reach of common people. Starting with 30 bed capacity which has a futuré projection of 100 beds.
Arogyo OPD is served by eminent doctors from Kolkata and around in different branches like General Medicine, General and Laparoscopic Surgery, Orthopaedics, Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Diabetology, Dermatology, Urology, Gastroenterology. Our Pathology and Radiology department caters most accurate and authentic report under the guidance of most experienced Pathologist and Radiologist as well. Our priorities focus on a quality service and our values are at the heart of patient care defining the way we work and behave. We keep faith with our tradition of care and compassion and keeping this in purview we believe every member of staff has responsibility for upholding standards and exploring new and better ways of working to give patients the care they expect.
Arogyam — Our well furnished pharmacy serving patient with all types of medicines at a a discounted rate. A well furnished guest house for the monks and visiting doctors has been constructed at Fuldanga, Bolpur.Green field plantation has been done in extended area at Raipur in Bolpur.We are providing free surgical and medical aids to poor and under privileged sector with the help of generous social worker, NPCB, Helpage India and also via CSR activity of different corporates.Cultivation for hospital fooding are in progress
Utilization of solar energy is our main aim. The purpose being successful by donation from a generous heart to procure solar street light and solar electricity for the entire hospital.
